Driving along a beautiful road that runs at the foot of the Hajar mountains, you will pass through small Omani villages until you reach the area of Al Hamra and Wadi Nakhar.
Following the Wadi, a mountain road will lead you near the summit of Jebel Shams (the Sun Mountain). You will stop here and take the chance to admire the view around the Grand Canyon of Oman.
After lunch you will leave the Jebel Shams area and returning from the same road of the morning you will stop in the village of Al Hamra an old village. its architecture resembles the famous villages in Yemen, the walls of the houses are constructed with bricks made from a mixture of mud, water, and straw. Not far from Al Hamra, another small village, Misfat al Abreen will capture your heart. A Persian tower, old houses and green terracing with dates’ palms, mango trees, papaya trees and bananas are irrigated with fresh water coming from the traditional falaj.
After a short walk, you will take the road to return to Muscat at your hotel.
